🚀 How can AI empower German authorities to operate more efficiently and act faster? 🎉 In #collaboration with Materna Information & Communications SE and Infora GmbH - a big thank you to Michael Hagedorn & Dr. Caroline Mükusch - we tackled this crucial question and developed a comprehensive AI strategy to revolutionize the public procurement process in Germany! 🧩 Public procurement accounts for 35% of German government spending, representing an estimated volume of EUR 300-500 billion annually (according to OECD). Given its pivotal role in public development, public procurement provides a great lever for AI to increase efficiency, speed up the procurement process and boost process quality. 🔑 What was our approach? 1️⃣ Extensive research on procurement trends, law requirements and process challenges 2️⃣ Exploration of about 50 (Gen)AI use cases and validation in expert interviews 3️⃣ Development of an AI-framework for public procurement to prioritize use cases by technological feasibility, value proposition and regulatory compliance – identifying 4 clear “quick win” use cases 4️⃣ Modelling “quick win” use cases mapped to the most matured tech stack options in the market as well as definition of in-depth implementation plan 5️⃣ Design of an IT architecture for an overarching platform facilitating the GenAI applications 🤝 The success of this study was driven by the invaluable public sector expertise of Materna Information & Communications SE and Infora GmbH A big shoutout goes to Joachim Bieniak, Kai Wagner, Nadja Kwaß-Benkow, Verena Fröhlich and Thomas Feld! Together, we delivered a comprehensive concept for German authorities including qualitative and quantitative reasonings as well as actionable measures to digitalize and modernize Germany’s procurement processes end-to-end. 🚀 What tech stack are we using? Special thanks goes to Aleph Alpha and to Torsten Graf and Alexander G. for their pioneering input for #PhariaAI as part of a comprehensive procurement assistant as a groundbreaking end-to-end AI solution allowing us to develop and deploy sovereign generative AI applications. PhariaAI is designed to ensure transparency, explainability and auditability of our AI innovations. 💡 This project is a testament to how GenAI can truly galvanize public administration, preparing the future for a more efficient and faster public sector.
