About AI Phase

AI Phase is a Munich-based IT consultancy specializing in the development of end-to-end AI solutions - from vision and strategy to implementation and maintenance. Our expertise ranges from generative AI and agent systems to computer vision and cloud architectures. What makes us special is our entrepreneurial thinking, combined with technical excellence. Our aim is to design and develop AI solutions at the highest technological level with measurable added value for SMEs, the public sector and industry.

About the Role

We are developing a robust 2D/3D quality inspection pipeline with tolerance handling for the automotive industry (German OEM involved). So far, we have developed a user interface and rule-based inspection algorithms serving as the baseline of our 2D/3D quality inspection pipeline. Now, we need to optimize our algorithms, implement additional features, selectively integrate AI components and keep testing, testing, testing…
  • Your Tasks:

    • Implement new and refine point-cloud registration algorithms (ICP/RANSAC)
    • Compute deviation heatmaps between point clouds
    • Denoise and clean scans, removing artefacts
    • Read and apply measurement plans programmatically and integrate them into our rule-based tolerance applications module
    • Read papers, and check out the newest developments in AI-processing of point clouds (i.e. PointCore)
  • Must Haves:

    • Enrolled in ≥5th semester Bachelor or (any semester) Master in Data Science, Computer Science, or similar technical degree
    • Strong coding skills (preferably Python)
    • Experience with point clouds and 3D geometry
    • Living in Munich as we will have to test in person
    • At least one more semester to go
    • Enough time to work 20 hours a week
